A Post-it note is a kind of sticky, usually small,with glue on back of paper, created in 1974 by Arthur Fu.
The discovery of Post-it notes was quite accidental. The scientists were looking for a strong adhesive, but found that what they got was a weak adhesive. While everyone was frustrated, Flay of 3M saw its true value in the experiment, and Flay was able to make billions of dollars from it.

In 1977, Arthur Fry was singing in his church choir when his bookmark kept slipping and he couldn't quickly find the correct number of pages. So he came up with the idea of creating a hymn book that could be re-pasted on post-it paper without falling off or getting damaged. He noted that his colleague, Dr. Spencer Silver, had developed a formula for a special adhesive patch back in 1968 that could be reapplied without leaving residue. So he put this glue on the back of the note, and his church hymn problem was solved perfectly! After continuous improvement, the magic Post-it note was born.
